Pipistrelle bats, a protected species, were inhabiting the existing roof space. Before work could begin, we constructed a new home for them, obtained approval from local and national bat preservation societies, and removed tiles from the roof to allow the bats to re-locate. Demolition of the old house then started on the 9th March, and the project was carried out in a 9 month window so that the clients were able to move in on the 14th December.

The new house was based around a bespoke steel frame, with contemporary features such as concrete floors containing under-floor heating throughout. As usual, we held regular client meetings to ensure high standards and attention to detail – a fine example of this being the unique oak, glass and stainless steel staircase, created within the budget.
